The Las Vegas Review-Journal’s Your Town blog is pointing its readers to Boulder City’s historic railroad trail for this weekend’s guided tours. The National Parks Service is leading tours on January 31 of the trail, which begins at an overlook of Lake Mead at the edge of Boulder City, and extends for a couple of miles along what was a railroad line that fed the construction of Hoover Dam.
While a guided trip is be a great way to see the trail, it’s not necessary. The Alan Bible Visitor Center, located at the start of the trail, has a lot of the information anyone would need to take a short walk along the trail. They have historical information, maps, and interpretive guides. So even if you don’t plan on being in Boulder City on January 31, you should still make a trip out there to take a walk along the historic railroad trail.
