Japanese Doll Exhibit Travels to Henderson
Filed under: Events, Henderson“The Dolls of Japan” traveling exhibit makes a stop in Henderson in celebration of the diversity of the Japanese arts, traditions and culture. The City of Henderson and the Japan America Society of Nevada have collaborated in an international cultural exchange to present this exciting exhibit featuring 70 unique pieces on loan from the Japan Foundation in Tokyo. Each figurine was hand selected by museum curators and some of the prized pieces include Kabuki and Imperial Palace dolls, as well as sumo wrestlers and armored warriors. The exhibit is on display through October 10. Admission is free.

Annual Event Honors Irish Culture with Parade, Festival and Carnival
Filed under: Events, Henderson The City of Henderson will go green for the 43rd annual “Sons of Erin” St. Patrick’s Day Parade & Festival, March 12-15 in the Henderson Events Plaza, located at 200 S. Water Street, in the Water Street District.A family affair, this year’s signature event will kick off with a three-day festival featuring a carnival with midway games, rides, delicious food and beverages at the Henderson Events Plaza.
The Irish festivities will be highlighted by the annual parade down Water Street on Saturday, March 14. It will showcase over 100 parade units including one-of-a-kind floats, special interest vehicles, dance groups, horses and marching bands dressed in emerald green.
The parade route will begin at the corner of Water Street and Ocean Avenue in downtown Henderson and conclude at the corner of Water Street and Victory Road.
