Off Broadway Smash Hit Plays at the Eldorado Showroom

Inspired by a hot flash and a bottle of wine, “Menopause The Musical” opens in the Eldorado Showroom on Feb. 25. The original, off-Broadway musical begins with four women, “Professional Woman,” “Soap Star,” “Iowa Housewife” and “Earth Mother,” at a Bloomingdale’s lingerie sale. These ladies have nothing in common— but a black lace bra, hot flashes, night sweats, memory loss, chocolate binges, not enough sex, too much sex and day-to-day challenges.

The women share their ups and downs through a collection of 25 re-lyricized baby boomer songs from the ’60s, ’70s and ’80s. Disco hit “Stayin’ Alive” becomes “Stayin’ Awake,” Motown favorite “My Guy” is transformed into “My Thighs,” “The Lion Sleeps Tonight” switches to “In the Guest Room or on the Sofa, My Husband Sleeps at night,” and “Puff The Magic Dragon” becomes the anthem to exercise, “Puff, My God I’m Draggin.’”

This is the opening scene at “Marriage Can Be Murder,” an interactive murder mystery dinner show at the Canyon Club in the Four Queens in Las Vegas.

Over the remaining two courses, the grim reaper pays a visit to three additional guests while audience members don detective hats and contemplate who might be the killer in their midst. To make things interesting, actors are interspersed in the crowd—dropping clues and fueling suspicions. Furtive stares and sidelong glances abound as everyone becomes a...

Kenny G. at Lake Las Vegas

The concert stage at Lake Las VegasRecently, my friend and I are sitting in our seats waiting for the Kenny G concert to begin.

We have just strolled through an area that makes you feel like you are walking down the streets of an Italian village lined with shops and wonderful places to eat. We try to decide between a nice coffee drink or the many flavors of gelato for an after dinner treat. After ordering a gelato cone, we wander over to a bench by the lakeside. We sit down and begin to enjoy the colors of the sunset as they peek over a bridge that looks exactly like the Pontevecchio Bridge of Florence, Italy.

Not your normal Las Vegas concert setting, won’t you agree? But the MonteLago Village area of Lake Las...
