There was a vibrant, lush wetlands parcel near Mesquite that was a vital part of the Virgin River ecosystem. This riparian ecosystem along the river was very green from thriving vegetation and served many purposes to the surrounding environment, including supplying food, cover, and water for a diversity of birds and other wildlife.
